When Herbert Stanford Beckett was born on August 22, 1889, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, his father, Walter, was 40 and his mother, Maria, was 37. He married Alice Maud Willis on December 25, 1909, in his hometown. They had two children during their marriage. He died in June 1951 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, at the age of 61, and was buried at Old Municipal Cemetery Ipswich, Suffolk.
